Cool stuff in Houston

I rarely find a slide show like this but I'd like you guys to see it, to get a better idea of what Houston is like. It's a bunch of pictures of things to do under $30, and Maddy and I have done most of them. All of the museums are within a mile of my house so we go all the time. And the cool shots of our skyline, right near my house too.Maybe this isn't how you pictured Houston if you've never been here, so enjoy it.

We go sometimes to a huge weekend Farmer's Market, which is mostly Mexican farmers who come in on the weekend to sell their produce. And Madelyn, even though she's a little white girl, is fluent in Spanish (she goes to a very special public school) and works deals with these sweet little old Mexican ladies. It's entertaining to watch. She'll get a whole sack of all kinds of veggies for $3. Maybe I'll film next weekend when we go. All of the Museums you saw are within walking distance from our house, including the Zoo.
Rent is more expensive in Montrose but worth it.

Spencer, thank for posting this. I am a country girl born and bred, and although I sit halfway between Baltimore and Philadelphia and have spent time in both, I never think of cities as having natural places and this kind of rebuffed that for me.

How amazing to have that and things like art museums and aquariums available to you. I detest driving an hour to go to a museum or the aquarium. Do you have all the great food markets that I am so jealous of?

I have never been to Houston. Spent a week in Dallas, but Houston, especially that skyline looks beautiful. You and Maddy are very lucky!
