I’ve seen it happen on too many occasions to count :
ex-partners making demands of their former spouses instead of treating them as the ‘favors’ they truly are. Is their attitude in part caused by ignorance of the law and parenting? Perhaps. Could their demands, in p…

Does this scenario rings any bells?
Sue is the primary caregiver of her two children. Her ex, Brian, is a part-time dad who pays child support and takes the kids every second weekend and one evening/week.
When they first got separated, Brian was very concerned about his limi…

I grew up with lactose intolerance. Before I became a parent, I didn’t mind my lactose intolerance too much. I just learned to live life without dairy, despite my occasional desires to eat a scoop of ice cream or cookies with milk. However, my worries began when I became a parent. I naturally believed that my children would grow up suffering from lactose intolerance. I made it my mission to provide the proper care for lactose intolerance that I had never received as a child. In a way, this was a…

And I feel that I must not fit in here because I am a little "different" than most of you. I walk a different path. But that is neither here nor there.
I have made some grandly stupid mistakes in the past year and I guess now I am paying for them in spades by being made to live here with my parents. I lost a good job due to stupidity, divorce and financial stress and a desperate need to get out of the town I was living in and long story short.....I wasted a lot of money and time and have nothin…

For the first time, I talked online about my unique family. I was very nervous but Jenn, the hostess, made me feel very relaxed. I couldn't believe the hour went by so fast! We had some sound issues, but I think you can hear everything.
I got to talk about my hubby, the two boys and me, our lives with chronic illnesses, disabilities and disorders. I didn't even have time to fit my sister in there! If you would like to listen to the show, here it is. I hope that this will be a great introduction…

I think I’m going nuts; I'm being yanked and pulled in fifty different directions. I should have known today would be one of ’those days’ when at 6:30 a.m., the scream of one my boys getting hurt hurtled me out of bed.
Work deadlines loom, my nanny phoned in ill, my kids’ after-school schedule today is very busy, kripes - I have no groceries or agenda for my preschool daughter, my email is on the blitz, and somehow I have to manage, troubeshoot, and do it all alone with these two hands and a sm…

The other day was the perfect case example. I drove home from custody mediation with obviously red, puffy eyes. I walked in the backdoor and immediately went downstairs to my office - I didn’t want my preschool daughter to see my tear-stained face. But once in the saftey of…

I was at home working on Saturday night when my phone rang - my ex's phone number popped up. I quickly answered, thinking it was my children.
Instead it was him. I braced to hear him tear into me about something. Instead I heard, “There's been an accident. We’re on our way to th…

On February 23rd, I will have been smoke-free for five years.
For me, it’s a date and a milestone that I’ll never forget. And because of
Ms. Single Momma’s current crisis with the nasty nicotine habit, I felt compelled to tell my story of how I quit, why I did it, and how I’ve continue…

This list is strictly for fun. I live my life with no regrets, and feel that having kids don't stop no show.
Here's a list, in no particular order, of things that I wish I'd done before having kids.
1. Screened the daddy - Nuff said.
2. Posed nude - For memories only. Those memories would remind me how much more I love my body now than I did then.
3. Become a millionaire - I wouldn't have had to work so hard or so much while raising…

My mom was always amazed at the stuff I would come up with while I was sleeping. I wrote many a poem or song lyric after hearing the words in my sleep. I actually used to keep a notebook by my bedside to write all this stuff down. Now that I think about it, I actually problem solve while I'm sleeping too. I can remember many all-nighters of computer programming, getting frustrated and going to bed only to continue to troubleshoot and wake up with the answers. Is that weird?
"Plenty"

Given our recent round of recurring contact dermatitis with Cassidy, I've been washing everything in sight. Today, it was her blue jacket's turn again (she has, what 3 jackets?). As is my habit, I reached into each pocket to check for papers, coins, clips, playdoh, candy....you know, the norm.
What I found shocked me.
In her right pocket, I found two pills.
That's right, bona fide, prescription pills. Small, round, and purple, scored with letters and numbers.
I knew what they were immediatel…

When I was 12, the same age as Little Elvis, my parents gave me $2.50 each week for an allowance.
According to GiveMe20.com, a website sponsored by a Credit Union Association, my old allowance has the equivalent buying power of $0.45 in today’s economy. I can’t think of anything my son would to buy or could buy for $0.45.

Today I'm pondering love & parenting. Are they good to keep separate?
I met a nice single mom who wants another kid. I want another kid. We've batted about the possibility of combining our wants and producing another kid. So far my friends' reaction to this has been less than approving. One guy offered to fix me.
I'm not planning on knocking up this nice lady, but I'm also not totally shutting down the possibility.
First of all I need to get to know her. There could be deal-breakers. She…

It's coming... That's right... SCHOOL!
I know, it's MID AUGUST and there are already commercials on TV and you can't go to the grocery store without seeing ads that say "Get Ready To Go Back To School"...
And while my daughter is slightly under the age to get ready for school we have a close friend who is starting second grade... He's staying with us for the three weeks until school starts, so getting him ready for school has been a topic of conversatio

You know, it's funny... some of the coolest stuff is for kids and some of the lamest stuff is for kids...
At a
Landmark function about a month ago my daughter met this really cool guy named Alex... Alex is 11 and to a four year old, that means nothing but "good times"...
Alex brought a toy into the party that was called Flurp... It was kinda like "slime" they had when I was a kid. Basic…

While lying on the couch with Ems, she told me these knee-slappers.
Why did the crayon cross the road?
Because it was being chased by wax.
Why did the man put on the wrong hat?
Because it was the wrong one.
Why did the fishstick cross the road?
Because he was trying to get to the sea.

The concept of Possibilty is a huge one... But one that I wanted to start blogging about.
In fact, I feel so strongly about the idea of Possibility that I'm about ready to share with you a new perspective on LIFE!
And if you haven't had a chance to really study this and wrap your mind around it, there is no time like the present... ha ha!
Possibility, as defined by American Heritage dictionary and
