What are your hobbies and interests?

Hobbies? HOBBIES? Seriously? Bwhahahaha! That's funny.

Interests include laughing with my boys, the unending quest to become a better housekeeper, Texas Longhorn football, my blog, guilty pleasures like Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, Big Brother, Grey's Anatomy, and Lost. And of course, iheartsingleparents.com. ;-)

Things I love but have no time and/or opportunity and/or money for: playing the flute (ask me about band camp!), travelling, concerts, oh...and sleeping!

What type of music do you like?

Oh, the variety! My music moods change with the seasons. Raised on country, I can never stay away from it too long. I've developed quite an affection for soul/blues as I've gotten older. Classic rock in the summer, alt rock, some pop from time to time....it's all good. As a flute player, I also love lots of classical music. Music is a huge part of my existence, and I'd be miserable without it.

About Me:

I've been single now for about two years, and I'm completely amazed at how much I've grown so far. I still have a long way to go, though. This is definitely not where I planned on my life heading, but now I can see how much better off I am than I was before..

I was born and raised in west Texas, and have truly come to appreciate the Texan Way of Life -- no one's a stranger, don't take anything too seriously, and whatever you do, do it up big. (And yes, I say 'y'all' all the time.) I've been in Michigan about ten years now, and grow more and more homesick as time goes on. Since The Big Reboot of my life, I don't make it back home to visit like I used to. I have a Texas cookbook full of Mexican and BBQ recipes which can help squash the homesickness from time to time. And I'm a charcoal girl...propane is for wimps! ;-)
