Halia was born right when he was supposed to. She weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces. I have seen the tiny babies in their isolates. I cry for them, I can’t help it. But I won’t pretend to know the pain their parents feel.

Hello everyone and sorry it's been so long.

This morning I got a bit of unexpected news. I was called into my chief's office and told that there is a possibility That I may be going to Iraq. I didn't get all the details because my mind started racing and I needed to get out of there. I know that it's for 279 days, 7 months of that will be boots on ground (in Iraq).

So a few weeks ago I saw a commercial for dairy queens pumpkin pie blizzard. I love pumpkin pie. My mom once asked me what kind of birthday cake I wanted (my birthday is in may) and I said pumpkin pie. Anyways...had to have the pumkin pie blizzard! I tried it, I was a fan...but it was alittle on the rich side. I am new to the Portland area and don't know a whole lot of people outside of work. The problem with that is that I am in the Navy and my job requires me to work one weekend a month. So this is where my problem is. I don't have anyone to watch my daughter on the weekend while I am at work. I am wondering if any native Portlanders out there might know of a daycare that is open on the weekends, or of any sort of recreational programs for kids on weekends.
