I understand where you are coming from! In marriages, it is so easy to lose contact with our single friends. Then we end up divorced and alone. I am lucky to have great friends. But I have also made lots of new friends.... when one chapter ends, a...
It's okay to feel that angry, if I were you I would be just as angry, especially when that person is taking your kids away from you. I hope you don't rant on her though or in front of the kids...it all is what it is, everything happens as it does ...
Oh so true... I always kept up the facade. There are not many single parents where I live either. Sometimes you just have to get out and keep looking! This site is great to start networking. Hugs to you!
This is very true. Everyone was shocked when I got divorced. I never told anyone how miserable we were and we didn't want to burden anyone with our problems.
Remember that when you were married, you put on your happy face in public, too. I know I did!!! So you might only see happy couples but you don't know what goes on behind closed doors in their homes - some of those happy couples are probably very ...
You are not alone. I am asking myself the same question. I stayed in on the 4th just because of that. No matter where I go I am always surrounded by happy couples. I see them laugh and smile. I see families playing together. I see wedding rings on...
There are others out there, but I think that I am just a little bit more self-conscious of being a single parent when I'm out at events like this :) I have also realized that I primarily go to places that are kid-friendly - therefore "family frien...
I felt the same way last night as I was with three happy families and the only single parent. It was hard to deal with, but maybe some day I'll be in that position.

What are your hobbies and interests?
I enjoy traveling to new places, even if it's in the same county! There's something about going to someplace new... I am into photography, gardening, cooking, and listening to music.
What type of music do you like?
Right now I have Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in my car...I listen to a lot of Country on the radio with my kids- it's the only "safe" radio station I know! Some of my all time favorites: Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creedance Clearwater, and Stevie Nicks... I love to watch Austin City Limits and discover new music...my new favorite is Ghostland Observatory :o)
About Me:
I grew up down on the Delta, with the blackberry bramble, honeysuckle, sandy/clay beaches, slimy catfish and crab-grass levees! I ended up moving to the Sierra foothills to escape all the development that was going on down in my hometown and to raise my kids in a more rural area that's more community centered like where I grew up. I am really busy- between work, school and my kids, it's hard to fit in the fun stuff! I'm working on that...I really enjoy venturing out to new places or old places that make me smile. (The ocean is one of those places...) I would like to explore more places close to home...on a trip to Tahoe recently I found so many lakes along highway 88, hmmm- good fishin' - swimming - hikin' - biking? I need to go and find out :o)
