Guten Tag!

So today I get a call from my sister (they are in PA) telling me she was taking my mom to the hospital. About 6 years ago, my mom had a heart attack at the age of 52. Soon after that she had a stroke. I was here in Oregon hearing about it all from my sister. My mom had gotten better, but in the last few years, she's started having complications. I certainly hope not. When I drop my son off at school in the morning, I am noticing a disturbing trend. Most of the other parents are on their cell phones non-stop. No good-bye hugs or wishes to have a good day. They are too busy having a conversation (I can’t imagine what would be so important at 7:30 in the morning). I notice it when I go pick him up in the afternoon too. No-hey buddy-how was your day or I missed you or anything. They just keep on talking.

I realized that this is the first election year that I know little or nothing about either candidate or their running mates, so I am currently doing research.
