A few years ago, my friend Erin and I went skydiving. Since it was Erin's 30th birthday, we invited her other best friend, Gretchen, to come skydiving with us. She said something like, "No way! I can't imagine putting my life at risk by doing something so crazy when I have a little boy. I just can't." Neither Erin nor I had children at that point, so we didn't really get it.

Lysol and vomit.

The lovely pairing of aromas wafted through my bedroom as I tried to sleep last night. Once, prior to mommyhood, this would have been reminiscent of a wild night of bar hopping, disgusting public restrooms, and too many drinks with friends . . . or, more often, friends who had too many drinks.
