Well, to be a bit blunt, I don't believe that people should go to "dating" sites for "friends". Try the newspaper, Craigslist, Meetup.com, local kid-friendly establishments, etc. But I wouldn't try dating sites. That is just my thoughts. Good luck!

One Year Anniversary
The world as Shay knew it turned completely on end one year ago today. I interpret her world at that point as one that knew much love, but one that was also laced with far too much external conflict and noxiousness. Exactly one year ago my daughter lost her mother to the demons that she was unable to outrun. Her world was immediately filled with unknowns, loss, and fear. Through the eyes of a child...
Even though my daughter is only 12, with everything she has been through I consider her to be a teen going on adulthood. The bitter truth is that way too much of her emotional innocence has been stripped away due to circumstance and the choices of others. Her mom and I divorced when Shay was only 1 - that was the toughest decision I've ever made - to walk away from my daughter to conversely make her life better. I can completely relate!!! My son is almost 2 and his father has only seen him twice in the past year, calls on average 4 times a month and doesn't have a phone to reach him at. He does the same thing about bailing on plans and makes up stupid exc...
