I'm sorry to hear about what your friend is going through. How kind of you to be there for him, especially since its something you can identify with.
There's a lot more I want to respond to from your message, but don't want to leave you the worlds longest comment! So ya, send me a text later if you want! No worries about waking me up. I silence my phone when I'm asleep on the nights that I have my son. ;0)

I don't have a lot of relatives in the area. My ex's family all lives up here, so my son is close to them. I have my son every other week, so when I have him I don't really need much help. His dad and I have been seperated for 6 years, so I've made it through the adjustment phase already. I do have a ton of amazing friends who are very helpful if I do need a hand.
You are fortunate to have your mom close by. I have to admit there are times when it would be really nice to have her around to help!
Your kids are totally adorable! Where are you riding the elephant? I rode an elephant once, but it was at a circus in a parking lot. Kind of a different experience than you had, I would guess!
