Meet Single Parents - i Heart Single Parents Social Network

An online community for single parents to meet, chat and find support!

Our Story

Our Story

i Heart Single Parents was created by two single mom, Morgan Siler and Clare Bean, in February of 2008. Through hard work, passion and dedication they have created an authentic online community for single parents, by single parents.

The two moms met in the Summer of 2007. What happened next began a small revolution for the single parent world, at least they'd like to think so. Siler and Bean discovered many commonalities; not just the fact that they each had a toddler boy and both were struggling to make ends meet, but they also had a strong desire to change the way society viewed single parents. They believed that single parents had not been given a voice, and were not being spoken to as a large part of the population all over the world. Both had been alone when they were pregnant and both experienced little success when browsing the internet for like-minded individuals who had been through what they were going through and were living happily as single parents. One thing they both realized was that they no longer felt isolated after meeting each other.

They finally felt hope and together began building the social network for single parents. Their goal behind i Heart Single Parents was to bring single parents together in a community so that the members could feel what the two moms felt, a connection with someone else who understood their unique situation--they wanted to create something that wasn't available before and to answer that call for connection in the single parent community at large.

In February of 2008, the online community, i Heart Single Parents was launched and on it's way. Now (November 2008) there are close to 1800 single parent members of the community, and their site gets nearly 200,000 page views per month. Since the launch, the online community has been featured on TV, online, radio and in print, including being called "The Single Mom Survival Guide" on national TV.

In the Spring of 2008, the moms connected with a publishing company and Single Parent, the print magazine for single parents like no other, was born. Single Parent will be an essential for all single parents to help them live their Happily Ever Now. The first issue is expected to be out January 2009.

Bean and Siler are currently hard at work on the magazine, the website, and planning a monthly event called "Single Parent Night Out" that will begin in Portland, OR and launch in other markets soon after.

Yes, possible and absolutely necessary in a lot of circumstances. I'm 33 and was raised by a single dad. I wouldn't have it any other way. Good luck and take care!

Well, to be a bit blunt, I don't believe that people should go to "dating" sites for "friends". Try the newspaper, Craigslist, Meetup.com, local kid-friendly establishments, etc. But I wouldn't try dating sites. That is just my thoughts. Good luck!

The title kind of explains it all. A friend and I are looking into exploring the Vancouver area with our kids. Does anyone have any suggestions for toddler and 10 year old friendly activities?
