I've got some time on my hands during the week until I am gainfully employeed. Anyone want to meet somewhere for a drink and knitting session, let me know.

I hope no one missed me in my very long absence. I haven't been on iheart for months. I hope the group is still going on without me.

There is also Sip and Kranz, at 901 NW 10th, which is open from 6:30am -7pm Mon-Thurs, 6:30am-8pm on Fri, 7am-8pm Sat, and 7am-7pm Sun. I've been there but it's been quite a while. They have a big-ish enclosed play area a bit away from the dining area, with a carpeted riser for sitting on. It's nice, but requires a bit more supervision and is therefore less craft friendly, so personally I'd prefer Urban Grind.

I called Urban Grind. They are at 2215 NE Oregon. Hours are 8-5 on weekdays, 9-5 on saturdays and closed on sundays. Monday and Tuesday work well for me, with Saturday as a possibility as well. Does any of that work for anyone else?

So I did nothing on my vacation like I planed so why don't we try Urbin Grind once MaryAnne gets back to us about hours and location. We will try sometime in September once we figured out our schedules

Sounds good. We can start with knitting and crocheting for our first meetup and see how we like it. I'm no expert but I know how to start the basics for both. Also I've got plenty of needles and yarn plus a bunch of patterns. This could be fun!

I don't know what their hours are but Urban Grind on the east side is a great spot. It's off of Burnside on about 20th I think, has a huge play area for kids, some of which is in a seperate room with a little door, and it's set up so they aren't going to break anything or run out the door if they get a little wild. So you can keep one eye on your project and one eye on your kid without having to jump up every 5 seconds. I can check on the hours if you want.

I have some days off of work so I will look for some places and start seriouly looking into meeting up. Probably after school starts so we are on a regular schedule and know what days are good for us.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I will definately keep it in mind. And like I said, I know I have another year to go, but I thought I'd just snoop around for now for tips and info.
