Has anyone used the reward or postive behavior thing. I wors. pretty well. I used to use a wheelchair for when she had bad transition anxiety works very well.

Oh i wanted to say too if your kids get seizures some ofthe m will go away. My daughter had a few when she was younger and thent hey e left. Thank god.

Ok so i wanted a cam corder for eons. Never had enough money. Best buy had this little cheap one on sale last night. i got one. I got for two reasons. I wanted one and i have begun to put a book together for the care of my daughter. But it gets daunting and somethngs are hard to describe. So am taping her things she can do and cannot do. often when she is around strangers she acts helpess and will not speak. So i want them to see what she can do well. Our kids often get scared around new people.

69 bucks plus memory card. not bad. still on sale today.

Hi. We have off and on issues with transition anxiety. that was the toughest. But we have traveld across the US, plane train and auto. We pick places less crowded but as kids we went to disneyland, the beach. she loves the beaches in so calif. the water and the sand. She is still now teaching herself new things. The other day something broke on a spray bottle. she fixed it! she tuaght her self how to use the paint programs in the computer. I am always impressed. She is usually pretty happy. She can have a killer sense of humor. They say our kids do not have feelings or emotions. ha! She has come a long long way. There was a time when we thought she would not talk. Now she talks all the time!

Julie try not to take all the stuff they write about autism to hear. 20 yrs nothing was known about it. So called experts were not there. It is a life by trial and error and effort. Happy turkey day!

Wow, that's great! I agree, and it was surprising, when certain autistic labeled issues disappeared or finally went away after lots of focus on them. I love my baby!

HI julie My dd is lower functioning. I work pt as a sub teacher. I can tell you your child will continue to learn and grow. there used to be this idea that our kids learned and then stopped learning. Not so.
Things will come and go with your auti child. Some of the sensitives she used to have are thankfully gone with age and time.
Things like noise. Being around big crowds have eased a lot.

It is a lot of work but i love my baby as well. She is 24 and graduated in 07.
