Meet Single Parents - i Heart Single Parents Social Network

An online community for single parents to meet, chat and find support!

I was just curious of any former couples who are sharing custody have both found their way here. How do you manage to keep your privacy and still communicate with other members? If your ex was here before you were, would you flee or sign up? This isn't happening to me, I was just curious.

My ex was on here first, when I first joined, but he was inactive.. Then he became inactive and it felt really creepy. I needed this site desperately and when I found out he was posting a bunch of stuff about us, I put my profile to private. Since his actions were very wrong with our marriage he felt threatened to be on here and then came back on as a "anonymous" profile except I knew it was him. He used a photo as his profile photo that both of us found long before we got divorced. Then it really stunk because I felt like he was preying on people on here. Needless to say, I am much happier that he has discontinued his profile and that I can have some privacy on here. This site was my saving grace.

That's funny because my ex is on here and I could care less. I actually told her about the site...no quams about it.

I hope not! :-) Now I'm afraid to look...

j/k there's no way he would join something like this. He's young, but very, very far removed from almost anything internet related.

and to answer the question, if I noticed that he was here before me I would probably stay but it would be awkward!

My ex was never single (had a girlfriend while we were married and got married to her after we split), so I don't have to worry that he'll show up here. Plus, there's way too much intellectual type stuff here for him. He would hate it.

yep mine was the same way. I don't think he would seek out "single parent" resources, anyway... he spends his internet time chatting with his girlfriend overseas.

Not that I'm aware of, but it probably wouldn't be a problem. We participated in several online groups during the last year or two of marriage, and for quite a while after the divorce as well.

But then again, I don't think we've had a single fight since we divorced, and we learned during the marriage how to resolve things really well via forums even when we were really upset. Otherwise it could cause all kinds of problems.

And if a couple has just barely split up, then having both of them present in the same online community is a recipe for drama & disaster, in almost all cases. Freshly-severed couples tend to ... "not see eye-to-eye". :)

In one weird way I think my ex is on this other board I post on ! it shows from Los Angeles, CA and he always had a habbit of being a 'chef' when he played scrabble online . I'm not sure if it's him but it's mighty particular suspcious! He used to be a 'chef' then he went to become a foreman for Tru-Roll in Glendale ,CA .

I doubt he would ever be here but who knows!

You guys are cracking me up, mine too is anti-technology for some reason and lives in the sticks so probably couldn't internet if he tried. As well as pretending his child doesn't exist heh. I feel for those of you who have to share - I need my refuges!
